Get into Nature at the Sheraton Boston Hotel

Boston hotels are getting a facelift! As the second in a series of blog articles on hotel renovations, today we are featuring the Sheraton Boston Hotel.

In April 2011, the 1,220-room Sheraton Boston Hotel completed the second phase of a two year renovation project, which included the transformation of the hotel event space. Phase one was the renovation of the guest rooms, public spaces and hotel lobby. Sheraton Boston is proud of its $70 million renovation, which greatly enhances the guest experience.

Designed after a park and nature-themed motif, featuring a green, orange and classic white color palette, the 829 new North Tower guest rooms now embrace a sense of tranquility and reflect the atmosphere of autumn in New England.

The new park-themed lobby features elements of real parks. Regional and seasonal botanicals literally bring the park to life and embody the lobby’s spirit of nature. A communal table allows groups of guests to work independently while in the same surroundings. Comfortable, oversized, Sheraton “park chairs” accommodate rest and relaxation and game tables inspire playful interaction over chess or checkers.

The newly renovated meeting facilities of the Sheraton Boston Hotel includes “Alive on Five”, a dedicated Green Meetings concept that features green inspired local original photographs from New England School of Photography students, sustainable menus, and carbon credits paid by the Sheraton Boston Hotel to offset any group’s meeting. The meeting space underwent improvements to the carpet, wallpaper and technology including wireless access points with fiber backbone, gigabit switches, and new house sound amplification and distribution system among other updates.

The re-designed lobby features “The Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft”. Conceived as a social environment, the Link@Sheraton invites guests to interact with each other while they check their email, research local attractions and even print their airline boarding passes, using free WI-FI and Internet-enabled computer stations.
